Backwater canoe rides
Drift through narrow village canals at dawn — egrets, water lilies and toddy tappers at work.
Islas · Lagos · Kayal — the lakes, in every tongue of Kochi
A bright little Portuguese-Kerala hideaway floating on the backwaters of Kadamakudy — karimeen on the grill, crab in the curry, and sunsets that refuse to end.
★ 4.7 on Justdial · 5/5 on TripAdvisor — "beachside location, spotless rooms, wonderful food"
Our story
O Lagos means "the lakes" in Portuguese — a wink at Kochi's 500-year Portuguese romance, from the Mattancherry palaces to the Fort Kochi ramparts. Here in Kadamakudy, the "lakes" are Kerala's own: glassy kayals fringed with coconut palms, Chinese fishing nets on the horizon, and village life drifting past in canoes.
Days here run on backwater time. Wake to kingfishers, lunch on pearl-spot karimeen pollichathu, spend the evening watching the sun melt into the water — then fall asleep to the softest silence you've ever heard.
